| Membership
Classes The Federation of
Child Care Centers of Alabama has five classes of membership. These
classes maybe divided into sub-classes.
Active members of the corporation are
those who have signed the membership roll and who have paid the
annual dues of the corporation.
The membership dues are designated by
the Board of Directors, and payable annually. A person shall cease
to be a member of the corporation on the expiration date of his /her
membership.
The classes of membership are: I.
Supporter: a) regular, b) parent and c)
student; II. Center Director; III.
Home/Group Provider; IV.
Organization; and V.
Agency
I.
Supporter
Qualifications: Individuals who are
advocates for children and are interested in developing themselves
and their communities.
Regular: Includes community advocates, teachers and aides and support
staff.
Parent: Individuals who have children
currently enrolled in child care facilities.
Student: Individuals who are enrolled
full time in an institution of higher education or post secondary
education.
Privileges: The individual will
receive FOCAL's newsletter FOCALPoint; can attend FOCAL training
workshops and meetings at the member discount on registration fees
and receive credit towards the State Minimum Standards requirement
for training; and receive limited technical assistance and support,
and up to date information on child care policy issues.
Membership Fees: Annual fees are:
Regular - $10; Parent - $5; Student - $5
II.
Center Director
Qualifications: Licensed childcare
centers that support the mission of FOCAL may become members of
FOCAL and hold one membership
Privileges: The provider will receive
FOCAL's newsletter FOCALPoint; can attend FOCAL
training workshops and meetings at
the member discount on registration fees and receive credit towards
the State Minimum Standards requirement for training; and receive
limited technical assistance and support, and up to date information
on child care policy issues.
Fees: Child Care Center fees are $50
annually.
III.
Home Provider
Qualifications: licensed home care or
group care providers who support the mission of FOCAL, may become
members of FOCAL and hold one membership.
Privileges: The provider will receive
FOCAL's newsletter FOCALPoint; can attend FOCAL training workshops
and meetings at the member discount on registration fees and receive
credit towards the State minimum Standards requirement for training;
receive limited technical assistance and support, and up to date
information on child care policy issues.
Fees: Home and group care provider
fees are $20 annually.
IV.
Organization
Qualifications: n organization that
is a part of the FOCAL network may become members of FOCAL and hold
one membership. The organization may be a nonprofit public or
private organization that is an advocate for children and supports
the mission of FOCAL.
Privileges: The organization will
receive FOCAL's newsletter FOCALPoint; the organization is eligible
for limited technical assistance; the agency will receive priority,
relative to nonmembers, for contracted training and technical
assistance and support, and up to date information on child care
policy issues.
Fees: Membership fees are based upon
the size of the agency's budget beginning at $50 for a budget less
than $150,000 and up to $2000 for a budget of $2 million.
V.
Agency
Qualifications: Agencies may become
members of FOCAL and hold one membership.
The agency may be a nonprofit public
or private agency or a state, regional or local public agency that
is an advocate for children and supports the mission of FOCAL.
Privileges: Agency will receive FOCAL
newsletter, FOCALPoint; staff can attend FOCAL training workshops
and meeting for the member discount on registration fees; the agency
is eligible for limited technical assistance; the agency will
receive priority, relative to nonmember agencies, for contracted
training and technical assistance and support, and up to date
information on child care policy issues.
Fees: Membership fees are based upon
the size of the agency's budget beginning at $50 for a budget less
than $150,000 and up to $2000 for a budget of $2 million. |
